The tray is all metal construction which makes it very sturdy. I had a similar tray from Fellowes that was almost twice as much $. The weight bearing point was all plastic and broke after a few years. This tray is all metal at the weight bearing points and is much more durable. A great tray and a great price!

I just got done putting mine together. After all the trouble I went through putting it together, it finally does the job and I would have given it 5 stars were it not for the trouble I went through installing it. If you are BIG on assembly instructions then this is not the unit for you. The instructions that came with mine betrayed a lot of laziness on the part of whoever wrote it as it assumes way too much, leaving you to have to figure out so much on your own. My other beef is with the cushioning that comes with the tray on the front side. Although welcome for comfort's sake, it becomes a stumbling block when using a mouse as it gets in the way of your hand. A mouse tray is optional: an option I chose not to include in my purchase because of my preference to have the keyboard and the mouse on the tray together. I will be exploring ways to cut the cushioning in half, getting rid of the side where my mouse sits.

Otherwise this thing is worth the dollars spent.

INSTALLATION
The installation is tricky. The typical user will need to use the instructions. However, as you follow the directions you realize the following:

After the track has been screwed to the underside of desk top, the mechanism arm containing the keyboard tray is slid into the track. It is at this point that the user discovers that the keyboard tray, even when fully retracted, protrudes 3 inches beyond the front of the desk.
